Major division tryout dates set - UPDATE
by posted 02/04/2010

2/4/10 UPDATE - Because of the pending storm, please read the following information regarding the Saturday February 6th Major Division try outs scheduled for Strayer Middle School in Quakertown. If the try outs are canceled, QYBA will post a notice at the top of our Home Page at www.qyba.org on Saturday Morning.

If the 2/6 try out is canceled, we have then have only one try out on Saturday February 13th at the Strayer Middle school from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for all eligible players. Because space and time is limited, all 12 year old players that played in the majors last year DO NOT NEED to try out - only 12 year olds who did not play in the majors last year and 11 year olds need to be at the try outs.

Major League Division tryouts will be held for all 12 year olds (DOB 5/1/97
through 4/30/98) and 11 year olds (DOB 5/1/98 through 4/30/99) on 2/6 and
2/13 at the Strayer Middle School Gym in Quakertown from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
The tryouts will be held indoors - player should report wearing sneakers (no
cleats) and with their gloves.

12-year old players should report on Saturday 2/6 as follows:
  • Last name A through H - 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
  • Last name I through Z - 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
11-year old players should report on Saturday 2/13 as follows:
  • Last name A through M - 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
  • Last name N through Z - 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
These tryouts will be used to evaluate all players for the Major league
division draft.  QYBA utilizes a "blind draft" system - teams are built
together by all Major coaches, ensuring teams that are balanced, fair and
competitive.  All 11 year olds who are not selected for the Majors will be
assigned to the Minor division.

If you have any questions. please contact the Major League Coordinator Steve
Delisle at 207-522-6003 or e-mail at .

Game Cancellation Process
by posted 04/20/2009

QYBA will make every effort to play all games as scheduled. However, there will be times when bad weather (or other events) requires that we cancel games and close fields. The following is the procedure that QYBA will follow in 2009:

  • A decision will be made by 5pm regarding that night’s games
  • The QYBA Home Page has a box in the upper right hand corner titled "Field Status" containing a list of all QYBA fields and their status - the default will always be OPEN (and the last date that field was opened):

  • In the event of game cancellation, the status of affected field(s) will be updated to CLOSED – anyone who has a game scheduled on a field marked as CLOSED will immediately receive an automated game cancellation email
  • All cancelled games will be rescheduled through the division coordinators and then posted to the website
Please be aware that there may be times when it is not possible to update the Field Status and cancel games early enough to save you a trip to the fields. We will do our best to make an early decision and have the site updated as quickly as possible.

A recomendation - for those with text message capabilities on their cell phone, you can set up your QYBA account to optionally receive important news items, game cancellations and schedule change notification via text message to your cell phone. To do this:
  • Click the "Edit My Account" link at the bottom left of the QYBA Home Page
  • Enter your email address and password (if you don't know or have a password, just enter your email address and a temporary password will be immediately emailed to you).
  • Once logged in, click the name of the person who's information you would like to update
  • To the right of the cell phone field is a field named "Provider", with a drop-down menu of many carriers
  • Select your carrier, confirm your selection on the pop-up window by selecting "OK" - you are now set up to receive text messages from QYBA.
  • If you ever want to stop receiving text messages from QYBA, log back in and remove the provider from the drop-down menu.

Keep your contact information updated
by posted 02/25/2009

Please keep all of your parent and player information up to date on the QYBA website.  This information will be used to contact you in an emergency as well as to keep you informed of any changes to game schedules and to let you know important dates and deadlines such as registrations and tryouts.

To check or update your information, simply go to the "Edit My Account" link (on the left side of the Home Page). Next, enter your email address and password and click on submit. If you don't know or forgot your password, simply enter only your email address and click submit - the system will send you your password via email.

If you have any problems, email Webmaster G @ with the specifics.

We′re looking for some new sponsors
by posted 11/26/2008

QYBA looks forward to the continuing support we receive from the Quakertown community. Our sponsors help to fund a program that will be serving over 500 Quakertown area youth. This year, we are starting a new T-Ball division, so new sponsors will be needed.

As a team or billboard sponsor (or both), you are exposed to parents and friends of these players. Sponsorships are available for as little as $150 a year. Our sponsors logos are also prominently displayed on our website.

Click the Documents link to the left to download the 2009 Sponsor form.
